Day 1 :

Arrival in Delhi - Scenic Drive to Shimla (380 Kms / 8 Hrs)

Arrive at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport or Railway Station by noon, where a friendly driver will welcome you. Then, relax as you head to Shimla, the beautiful capital of Himachal Pradesh, famous for its mountain views and colonial charm. Enjoy the scenic landscapes and quaint villages along the way. Once you arrive, check in at a cozy hotel, ideal for couples. End the day with a romantic dinner at the hotel, followed by a restful overnight stay.

Day 2 :

Shimla – Kufri Adventure & Local Exploration

Start your day with a delicious breakfast, then get ready for an adventure. Head to Kufri, a lovely hill station famous for its stunning views and outdoor activities. Try horse riding or relax with a picnic in nature. On the way back, visit Green Valley, Mahasu Peak, Jakhoo Temple, and the lively Mall Road, perfect for shopping for local crafts and souvenirs. Wrap up your day with a romantic walk along The Ridge, enjoying the sunset over the mountains. Finally, return to your hotel for a cozy overnight stay.

Day 3 :

Shimla to Manali (280 Kms / 8 Hrs)

After breakfast, check out and start your journey to Manali, passing beautiful sights like the Beas-Sutlej Link Project and Pandoh Dam. Take a break for a relaxed lunch at a local café (at your own expense) and enjoy the flavors of Himachal. Arrive in Manali, a picturesque town known for its green forests and adventure options. After checking into your hotel, spend the evening exploring the local area or simply unwind in your cozy room. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 4 :

Day of Adventure at Solang Valley & Rohtang Pass

Start your day with a hearty breakfast before heading to Solang Valley, an adventure lover's paradise. Couples can enjoy thrilling activities like paragliding, zorbing, or a romantic ropeway ride, all with stunning views of the snow-covered peaks. In winter, the valley becomes a snowy wonderland for skiing and snowball fights.

On your way back, stop by the Him Valley Amusement and Cultural Park for some fun and relaxation. After an exciting day, return to your hotel for a cozy overnight stay. You can also consider a trip to Rohtang Pass (for an additional cost) to take in its breathtaking scenery.

Day 5 :

Local Discoveries in Manali

After breakfast, set out to explore Manali’s highlights on a half-day sightseeing tour. Visit the peaceful Hadimba Temple, the beautiful Nehru Kund, and the serene Van Vihar Park, where you can take a relaxing walk by the lake. Stop by the Manali Gompa to experience a touch of Buddhist culture, then enjoy some fun activities at the Club House.

In the evening, treat yourself to a romantic dinner at a local restaurant and savor the flavors of Himachali cuisine. Return to your hotel for a restful overnight stay.

Day 6 :

Journey to Delhi (560 Kms / 12 Hrs)

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and start your drive to Delhi. On the way, stop at the peaceful Vaishno Devi Temple in Kullu, a serene spot ideal for a moment of reflection. You'll be dropped off at Delhi's IGI Airport for your onward flight, scheduled after 8 PM. Depart with fond memories of your romantic getaway, looking forward to your next adventure together.

How fit do I need to be to do this trek?

Annapurna Base Camp is a Grade B or a moderately difficult trekking route. So any fit person can do this trek, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will too, you can.

How long do we walk every day when doing Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

On average, you walk about 4 to 6 hours per day. One or two days can be as less as 3hrs and one or two days can be as long as 7hrs.

What is the highest altitude reached in this trek?

The highest altitude reached is 4190m. This is the elevation of Annapurna Base Camp. ABC is the highest we will climb in this trek.

What about battery charging and hot shower facilities?

Yes, you can charge batteries en route. Charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay a certain amount for both ($1-$2). Negotiate. Also, a hot water facility could be free at a lower elevation.

Are there ATMs on the way to Annapurna Base Camp?

No. There are no ATMs on this trek route. You will have to draw enough cash in Pokhara or Kathmandu. There are a number of ATMs in these cities. Everything is paid in Nepali rupees. So money should be exchanged before the start of the trek.

What about internet access?

Yes. The Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. The Internet in Nepal is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.

Is it necessary to hire Guides/trekking agency for Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

Not really. It depends on you. If you want, ABC trekking can be done independently. You could hire a guide and a porter by yourself instead of going through an agency or not hire a guide at all. Although, not having a guide can be a little problematic during the offseason.

It really depends on you. Is it your first time in Nepal? How confident are you of being able to find your way around? How pressed on time are you? If you go through an agency, it will be costlier but everything will be planned. You will only have to come, trek and return.

How much do guides and porters cost?

For the Annapurna region, pay for guides range from $20 to $30 per day and porters take $15 to $25 per day.
